I recommend Gripped Part 4: Smoke & Mirrors by Stacy Padula to teenagers and young adults. Gripped Part 4 deals with accurate real life scenarios involving struggling teens and young adults. This book and the entire Gripped series serves as an outlet of useful information, helping build relationships with parents and their teens, or schools and educators to learn about what their students are going through and calibrate the classroom environment around them and the teaching styles implemented. Gripped Part 4 utilizes a very fluid writing style throughout, especially with dialogue between characters.

The topics covered in the book are extremely relevant for teenagers, especially in these uncertain times. A lot of teens have a hard time reaching out to other people and this book is a great way to do so that doesn’t expose them directly to the harsh reality of the outside world, but allows them a glimpse into choices and consequences.
