Sarah Parrish Reviews “When Darkness Tries to Hide” by Stacy Padula

Review by Sarah Parrish—Dover, Massachusetts

In “When Darkness Tries to Hide,” by Stacy Padula, the students and Montgomery Lake High School face a tragic event on a stormy night. Jason Davids is put into a tough situation and the characters have to come together and avoid cliques and drama. This book contains many important lessons that are important for anyone going through hardships to read.

Jason is a character who is always searching for fulfillment, often resulting in the abuse of drugs. Throughout the series, he tries to better himself and find better outlets for happiness, such as his girlfriend Cathy. In this book and the tragic event, he is able to find a better relationship with religion that we hope to see continue and progress throughout the rest of the series.
