“I have loved you with a love that never ends
Though the mountains must be shaken
And the hills be removed
Yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
How could I give up on you?
My heart is turned over within me”
Sarah: This is pretty good stuff. Who wrote it?
Yesh: My Father
Sarah: You’re kidding. Who did he write it for?
Yesh: For a relationship he had, one that he desperately wanted back
Sarah: Wow he must have been head over heels in love?
Yesh: That’s an understatement.
Yesh: As a matter of fact that’s the same way God wants to love you.
I came across this today and it really touched me. I was thinking about how head over heels in love with each and every one of us God is, and how the Bible is a beautifully written love letter to us from Him. (The poem above comes from: Hosea 11:8, Jeremiah 31:3, & Isaiah 54:10.)
I love that He never gives up on reaching out to us. When we reject Him or turn away from Him, He is there reaching out, not giving up on us, because He longs for a reunited relationship with us.
When we run from Him and refuse to have a relationship with Him, His heart is overturned. The hurt He must feel when people reject Him must hurt an infinite time more than any hurt we could ever experience as humans. Because the truth is, the more you love someone, the more it hurts when they reject you. His love for us is beyond measure – beyond anything we could ever feel. His love is perfect.
I am just in awe when I try to comprehend how much He loves me.
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
At the cost of His own Son’s life, God made a way for us to reconnect to Him, our Loving Creator. So that He can spend eternity loving us with His unfailing, never shaken, perfect love.
