Nicole Kroon Reviews “Gripped Part 3: The Fallout” by Stacy Padula

By Nicole Kroon—North Andover, Massachusetts

Gripped Part 3: The Fallout by Stacy Padula was an intriguing novel about the tough journey back from substance abuse in a small town full of interconnected friends and challenges. As the kids of Montgomery Lake High start to realize that their drug use is getting out of hand, some of them decide to try and change their lives for the better. But, it proves to be more complicated than simply becoming sober. Friendships are challenged, hearts are broken, and secrets come bubbling to the surface as the kids sort out their difficult past and try to work for a better future. The fascinating story of the Dunkins, Jason and Luke Davids, and Cathy Kagelli will hook you into the complex world of Montgomery Lake and leave you itching to read the next book.

Throughout this novel, the harsh realities of alcohol and drug abuse are explored, and readers are exposed to the dangerous consequences of what happens when people aren’t careful. The lessons taught in this book about the perils of substance abuse are incredibly necessary for tweens and teens around the world, now more than ever; as more kids become addicted to drugs, it’s important that these messages are spread to prevent further drug usage and overdoses. That’s why I would recommend this book to all tweens and young adults across the globe.
